Faces of Jerusalem by Nabil Anani
Nabil Anani (b. Latroun, 1943) has always highlighted the theme of unity and togetherness in his artwork. In Faces of Jerusalem (2024), he depicts a Palestinian family grouped together in the foreground of the cityscape. They stand side by side, looking forwards as if to pose for a portrait. Anani also depicts white doves perched atop the trees, or above olive branches, joining this family as they remain proud of their heritage and familial bond, signifying peace amongst the Palestinian community.
