Bashar Alhroub (b. Jerusalem, 1978) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice reflects on place, identity, and belonging within the broader context of Palestine’s political and emotional landscape. In Saint Girl No. 3, he reimagines the figure of the Palestinian woman beyond traditional depictions rooted in history and heritage. Through a series of five works, Alhroub presents women as icons of contemporary resistance—complex, layered, and deeply present in today’s social and political reality. He explores womanhood from multiple perspectives, emphasizing her evolving role in society while honoring her strength, agency, and symbolic presence in the Palestinian struggle.
