Mariam by Bashar Alhroub
Introducing Mariam by Bashar Alhroub. As part of Zawyeh Gallery’s Posters for Gaza campaign, Bashar Alhroub contributes to a long-standing tradition of Palestinian political posters that speak to resistance, survival, and identity. The project aims to raise awareness about the devastating massacres in Gaza and to demand a ceasefire and the recognition of Palestinians’ right to live freely and with dignity on their land. Born in Jerusalem in 1978 and currently based in Ramallah, Bashar Alhroub works across photography, painting, drawing, and video installation. His practice is shaped by the tension between personal identity and collective memory, often exploring the emotional and political significance of place. Alhroub’s work is part of several international museum and private collections, reflecting his global reach and the continued resonance of his themes within and beyond Palestine.
