An Olive Tree by Alaziz Atef
Atef’s work centers on the Palestinian landscape, with the olive tree as a powerful symbol of rootedness and resistance. He paints the land as it is—sacred, enduring, and deeply tied to Palestinian identity. His honest, grounded approach reflects the landscape not as background, but as a living witness to history and struggle. Born in Al-Arroub Refugee Camp in 1996, Atef lives in Birzeit and is currently part of an open mentorship with artist Sliman Mansour, developing a practice rooted in memory, truth, and belonging.
