Nostalgia by Nabil Anani
Nabil Anani (b. Latroun, 1943) evokes a deep sense of nostalgia, not just for a romanticized past, but as a powerful response to loss and ongoing conflict. His distinct style is evident in his portrayal of human figures. In this work, he depicts children rendered in a vibrant blue, each holding a single flower. Despite the simplicity of the gesture, the scene carries a poignant emotional weight. The children’s act of holding onto something beautiful amid the backdrop of the Palestinian conflict.
