Mohamed Saleh Khalil’s paintings are typically created as complete, or almost complete, works. He only revisits them occasionally in the following days until he feels there is nothing more to add. He approaches his artwork with boldness, never hesitating to repaint when it feels right, driven by a state of dissatisfaction and intensity. It is not uncommon for him, while reflecting on his work, to change the color of the sky in a painting he created months ago, or to cut another painting down the middle – keeping one half as it is while continuing to paint on the other. He does not settle on one style or subject, nor does he compromise his artistic freedom – not for any prevailing taste, nor out of fear of being criticized for the apparent alienation of many of his works from the context and environment in which they were created. He resists conforming to the expectations of what a Palestinian artist like him is supposed to produce.

Mohamed Khalil’s book features several hundred images of his artworks created over the years. It also includes a detailed biography and artist statement.
