Holy Family by Sliman Mansour

In this work, Sliman Mansour (b. Birzeit, 1947) presents a powerful image of the Palestinian family as a symbol of cultural continuity and resilience. A woman in traditional dress is embraced by a man, while their child, wearing a kuffiyeh, stands between them—signifying the transmission of identity and heritage to the next generation. The composition, reminiscent of classical religious iconography, evokes themes of sanctity, protection, and generational unity. The warm tones of orange, yellow, and brown reflect the Palestinian landscape and reinforce the family’s rootedness in their land. Through this arrangement, Mansour emphasizes both the sacredness of the familial bond and the enduring role of tradition in sustaining Palestinian identity amid adversity.

T Nostalgia by Nabil Anani was born in Nablus in 1974. He received a BA degree in fine art from Al Najah University in 1998. Although he is a multidisciplinary artist- producing sound and light installations, video and performances- Asad describes himself as a painter first and foremost. Starting as an abstract painter, his work has evolved to focus on Palestinian landscape. He has participated in group exhibitions in Palestine, Europe, Japan, the US and the Arab world.
