Sacred Contrasts by Hosni Radwan

Hosni Radwan, born in Baghdad in 1955 and trained in graphics at the University of Baghdad, centers his work on the city of Jerusalem, capturing its complex essence woven with beauty and contradictions. After spending much of his life in the diaspora, the moment Radwan set eyes on Jerusalem, he was instantly captivated. The city’s charm—the delicate arches, distinctive oriental architecture, vibrant colors, scents, sounds, and unique way of life—resonated deeply with him. Jerusalem offered Radwan a sense of safety and belonging, connecting him back to his childhood memories of Baghdad’s old city, where his family was displaced in 1948.
