Memory of Places by Sliman Mansour

Sliman Mansour (b. Birzeit, 1947) presents an elderly Palestinian man standing before a painting of a landscape filled with olive groves. Mansour explores the relationship between memory, identity, and land. The juxtaposition of the figure and the painted landscape suggests a deep personal and collective connection to place. The olive groves symbolize resilience and cultural continuity, while the elder’s contemplative stance evokes memory and lived experience. Through this work, Mansour reflects on the role of art in preserving heritage, framing the land not only as a physical space but as a repository of history and identity.

T Nostalgia by Nabil Anani was born in Nablus in 1974. He received a BA degree in fine art from Al Najah University in 1998. Although he is a multidisciplinary artist- producing sound and light installations, video and performances- Asad describes himself as a painter first and foremost. Starting as an abstract painter, his work has evolved to focus on Palestinian landscape. He has participated in group exhibitions in Palestine, Europe, Japan, the US and the Arab world.
